Parokya ni Edgar guitarist Gab Chee Kee attended the repeat concert of singer-songwriter Ebe Dancel’s ‘Sa Wakas: 20th Anniversary Celebration’ on Friday, March 31 at the 123 Block, Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City.

This marks his first public appearance since his discharge from a two-month-long stay at the hospital due to health complications caused by lymphoma.

Due to insistent public demand, a repeat concert of ‘Sa Wakas: 20th Anniversary Celebration’ was staged which celebrates the enduring legacy of Sugarfree’s iconic debut album. Dancel performed with Sugarfree’s former drummer, Mitch Singson.

Earlier in the evening, Dancel dedicated the music event to Chee Kee. Moreover, part of the earnings of the show will be donated to the latter’s hospital and medical expenses.

“He’s somewhere there. Pabayaan natin siyang enjoy-in ang gabi. Ang show na ito ay para sa inyo at para kay Gab,” Dancel told the audience.

However, Chee Kee couldn’t help but take the stage and wave to the people who came to his aid.

“So very very happy to see him here tonight. I think this is his first show, Gab Chee Kee bro,” Dancel said as he introduced the guitarist to the crowd.

Meanwhile, Parokya Ni Edgar’s frontman Chito Miranda announced Chee Kee’s discharge from the hospital on Friday, March 10, when he shared a photo of the guitarist heading out of the hospital in a wheelchair.

“After [two] months in the hospital due to pneumonia (more than a month [doon], intubated sa ICU), and after several major and minor operations dealing with complications brought about by his condition, sa wakas, pina-uwi na si Gab sa bahay nila,” Miranda captioned the post.

Additionally, the vocalist says that Chee Kee will now continue with his chemotherapy.

“The important thing is that we are back on track. Kumbaga, balik tayo sa main event… his fight against Lymphoma,” he affirmed. “We will win this battle.”
