One of the American singer-songwriter’s most popular tracks, “Just Dance,” from her 2008 debut single, launched her to stardom and topped the international charts. It has accomplished the remarkable achievement of earning the renowned RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) Certified Diamond status, a feat that only a select few artists have done. This is her third RIAA recognition, following other worldwide hits “Bad Romance” and “Poker Face.”
With 175 non-consecutive weeks at the top, “The Fame” holds the record for the longest run at the top in the history of Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The song reached number one in five countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as on US Top 40 radio.

Gaga joins a select group of artists who have earned the accolade, including icons like Mariah Carey, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, among others.
“Just Dance” was the lead single from Lady Gaga’s debut album The Fame (2008), released 15 years ago.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) verifies music sales and grants certifications depending on the quantity of music purchased or streamed in the US. The RIAA’s Gold and Platinum Awards, which started with recognizing musicians and keeping track of recording sales, have evolved into a symbol of achievement for all musicians, regardless of whether they have just released their debut single or Greatest Hits album.
