Legendary singer David Bowie died at the age of 69 after secretly battling cancer for 18 months.
The news was announced by his spokesman this morning: “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.”
Bowie just released his 26th studio album ★ (‘Black Star’) three days before his death. Despite his illness, the glam rock icon was able to shoot two music videos for the new album.
David Bowie, born in Brixton, South London became famous of his hit song ‘Space Oddity’ in 1969.
In the following years, he continued to become one of the ground-breaking musicians in the world.
Bowie played with different genres for over 40 years which were in glam rock, art rock, soul, hard rock, dance pop, punk and electronica.
