The Weeknd wins 8 awards at 2016 Billboard Music Awards

  R&B singer The Weeknd bagged eight awards including two major awards, Top Hot 100 Artist and Top R&B Artist at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

  Aside from The Weeknd who won ‘big’ at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, Adele won the Top Artist and Top Female Artist; Justin Bieber took the Top Male Artist award and Rihanna was voted for the Chart Achievement Award.

  Here are some of the winners of 2016 Billboard Music Awards:

  Top New Artist: Fetty Wap

  Top Duo/Group: One Direction

  Billboard Chart Achievement Award: Rihanna

  Top Billboard 200 Artist: Adele

  Top Touring Artist: Taylor Swift

  Top Rap Artist: Drake

  Top Rock Artist: twenty one pilots

  Top Dance/Electronic Artist: David Guetta

  Top Billboard 200 Album: Adele, “25”

  Top Soundtrack: Pitch Perfect 2

  Top Hot 100 Song: Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth, “See You Again”
