Selena Gomez has cancelled her world tour because she is experiencing the side effects of her battle with lupus according to Billboard.
The ‘Hands To Myself’ singer is taking a career break to address her health as she deals with anxiety, panic attacks and depression caused by the chronic disease.
“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” the 24-year-old singer and actress told People. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”
Last year, Gomez’s illness put her in rehab with chemotherapy treatment and caused the singer to cancel the last leg of Star Dance Tour.
Lupus – officially termed Systemic Lupus Erythematotsus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune condition when the body makes antibodies that attack itself.
