Chloe’s Inbox – Assumptions are not good for your heart

  Hi DJ Chloe!

  I really like your program because you help people figure their things out. By the way, my name is Jason, 50-year old college professor. I’m only living with my two (2) daughters because my wife passed away eight (8) years ago.

  I’ll go straight to the point, DJ Chloe. As wrong as it may sound, I think I like my former student. It started when she started asking for my help with her paper works. She comes to the house where we’ll work on it together and bond with my daughters after. Girl talk, kumabaga, kasi magkakaedad naman sila (early 20s). Mabait at matalinong bata siya, DJ Chloe. As time goes by, napapadalas ang pagpunta niya sa bahay para makipagbonding sa mga anak ko pero lagi siyang may dala for me. Inisip ko nga na teka, baka sinusuhulan ako nito para payagan ko sila ng mga anak kong gumala. A couple of days ago, I thought of checking her Facebook account and found out that she’s currently dating someone. Now, I know na parang anak lang dapat ang turing ko sa kanya pero naguguluhan ako dahil ‘yung naramdaman ko nu’ng nakita ko ‘yun ay hindi ko naramdaman noong nalaman kong may ka-date ang anak ko. I think I felt jealous, DJ Chloe. Please help me to sort this out because I’m really at a loss with what’s happening to me.

  Hi Jason!!!

  Ikaw ang nakakatanda, ikaw ang dumistansya.

  Maybe she is just being nice to you and your kids, and maybe she just happens to be closer now to your kids. It’s hard to assume you know, and in your profession, it would be best to not get involved.

  Baka may father issues din siya, kaya napalapit sa’yo, alam mo ba background niya?

  I would rather you don’t get yourself involved.
