Study Now, Love Later

  DJ Chloe,

  I’m a teenager. I met a guy and that was October 13 this year. Well, he is one of the closest friend of my older brother. The guy is working in Saudi and will come home next year, December, he told me. this past few weeks we are both having a decent chat or let’s say, getting to know each other. Our age gap is 11 years. I’m only 15 and he’s 27. My brother doesn’t have any idea that we are chatting because maybe he will get mad on both of us. Days passed by, I felt like he’s interested bout me. I asked him if he like me, he said yes but then refused first of all because of our age difference. And lastly, he’s a close friend of my brother so he doesn’t want to lose his trust. I understand the way that he is thinking and told me to be just friends with him anyway. Day after day he is calling me on phone. When he wakes up and when he gets home and talked about anything. He asked me if I like him and said not really. Then he replied why and said that he told me to be just friends with him and so I did.

  He told that he likes me already. I don’t know why. Until now we are still communicating to each other.

  I asked him what would he do if my brother finds out that what we are right now. He told me that he’ll stop messaging me if that happens.

  I just want to ask, DJ Chloe, what am I supposed to do right now because I like him too.

  Should I trust him or I should still observe?

  I’m not so desperate but I’m just curious how we can both handle this and make things work out together.

  I can sense that he is a nice guy, gentleman, and a sensitive guy.

  I’m not in love to this guy. I just like him.

  We are planning to meet when he gets home here in Manila. Please, DJ Chloe, I need some advice.

  Kung ang usapan niyo eh maayos naman at ‘di ka naman binabastos and he doesn’t take advantage of your being a kid/teenager, considering his age, eh okay lang naman makipag-usap. Pero bakit siya takot sa kuya mo na malaman? May masama ba siyang intentions? May pinag-uusapan ba kayong ikakagalit ng kuya mo?

  If he wants to meet you pag-uwi niya eh di padalawin mo sa bahay niyo, na andyan ang mga magulang mo at kuya mo. ‘Wag mong i-meet mag-isa.

  You’re only 15. Try muna natin, ate, na magfocus sa pag-aaral.
