40th annual John Lennon tribute goes online

  The annual John Lennon tribute on October 9 has forced to transfer to online platform because of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, September 25, Friday.

  “The idea of not celebrating John, of stopping after 39 years, never crossed my mind,” said Joe Raiola, producer and artistic director of the Theatre Within organization.

  Included on taped performances will come from Jackson Browne, Joanne Osborne Jorma Kaukonen, Marc Cohn, Natalie Merchant, Patti Smith, Rosanne Cash, Shelby Lynne, Taj Mahal and many more.

  Organizers will ask for donations and contributions that will proceed to cancer patients. There will be no ticket sales for the event this year. Tribute to Lennon started in 1981 after the former Beatle member was shot to death.
