Banda ni Kleggy shares new heartbreak anthem ‘Bahay Kubo’

  Heads up, folks! This is not your ordinary ‘Bahay Kubo.’
  In the words of Banda ni Kleggy, “‘Yung Bahay kubo namin walang sibuyas!”
  
  The quintet launched their latest single on Friday, January 6. But unlike the classic Filipino folk song which implies the joy and simplicity of rural life, Banda ni Kleggy’s version talks about heartbreak and the complications that come along with it.

  In fact, ‘Bahay Kubo’ embodies the phrase “almost had it all.” 
  
  “The song describes a man who looks back at his entire life with a sad end with his childhood sweetheart,” the band said in a press release.

  “It is about yearning for the love that almost happened… a push and pull with fate, allowing himself to experience the love he wanted to give with his partner, then taking it back again until his dream to love his childhood lover is in shambles and is not happening ever again,” they continued.

  Additionally, this heartbreak anthem is written by Berns Cuevas.

  Banda Ni Kleggy is composed of Kleggy Abaya (Vocals), Rye Sarmiento (Guitars and Back up Vocals), Berns Cuevas (Guitars), Bob Cañamo (Bass) and Raffy Bonifacio (Drums). Moreover, they are popular for live performances with a winning combination of contagious energy, comedic antics onstage and refreshing songs.
