You won’t break her soul, but she sure as hell can break Grammys’ history!

Pop superstar Beyoncé broke the record for most career wins at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 5.

Four Grammys were won by the singer, including the best dance/electronic album for Renaissance, bringing her total for her career to 32. As of writing, she has more Grammys than the late classical music conductor Georg Solti.

I’m trying not to be too emotional; I’m trying to just receive this night” – the 41-year-old said on stage after taking up the record-breaking accolade for dance/electronic album. She also paid thanks to her family, alongside the LGBTQIA+ community for their support and for inventing the music genre she used for her recent album.

Beyoncé missed the announcement of her win for best R&B song for “CUFF IT” earlier as according to host Trevor Noah, she was stuck in traffic. Later, he presented the singer with the trophy from her seat in the crowd. Consequently, she won best dance/electronic recording, best dance/electronic album, and best traditional R&B performance.

The “Crazy in Love” singer acquired four more Grammys, raising her total to 32 for her career.

About 11,000 Recording Academy members, who have been under fire for not properly recognizing Black talent, chose the awardees. In recent years, the group has tried to diversify its membership. Beyoncé competed against a strong, diverse group that included Bad Bunny, Styles, flutist, and singer Lizzo, British vocalist Adele, and Swedish hitmakers ABBA from the ‘70s disco era.
