Big Hit Music has released a statement following the K-pop supergoup BTS’ announcement that they are going on an indefinite hiatus according to Bandwagon Asia.
Few days after dropping their anthology album ‘Proof,’ BTS announced the news during their BTS Festa 2022 event that they will be taking a break from group activities to focus on their individual careers. “We’re going into a hiatus now,” Suga said in the video. “It’s not that we’re disbanding. We’re just living apart for a while,” he added.
Meanwhile, HYBE, the South Korean entertainment company behind BTS clarified that BTS is NOT on hiatus but will focus on their solo projects and will remain active as a group. “To be clear, they are not on hiatus but will take time to explore some solo projects at this time and remain active in various different formats,” the company said.
Members of the Korean supergroup have already projects lined up. J-Hope is set to perform at Lollapalooza music festival in August, Suga and Jungkook have plans to release more songs as solo artists, and V is scheduled to appear on a reality show.
