BLACKPINK made their successful comeback to the Philippines as they held their two-day concert as part of their Born Pink World Tour at the Philippine Arena. Presented by Live Nation Philippines, the sold-out shows took everyone by storm that even the South Korean girl group couldn’t help but acknowledge it.
The quartet performed to a nearly 100,000 crowd, making it one of the largest concert audiences in Philippine concert history.
Filo Blinks sang and danced along with BLACKPINK as they opened the show with ‘How You Like That.’ The high-energy number was followed with ‘Pretty Savage,’ ‘Whistle,’ ‘Don’t Know What To Do,’ and ‘Lovesick Girls.’
“I did not realize that the seats are so high… it looks like stars up there,” Jennie said upon seeing the whole Philippine Arena jampacked with concertgoers. The indoor arena has a maximum seating capacity of 55,000.
On the other hand, Rosé uttered “Wow!” as she, Lisa, and Jisoo also looked at the thousands of screaming fans who were proudly waving their flickering heart-shaped lightsticks called BI-Ping-Bongs.
Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa were on fire all night, proclaiming that the Philippines has the “loudest crowd.”
The girls then performed ‘Kill This Love,’ ‘Crazy Over You,’ ‘Playing with Fire,’ ‘Tally,’ and ‘Pink Venom’ during their second set.
Subsequently, each member of the band had their turn on stage. Jisoo performed ‘Liar’ by Camila Cabello, while Jennie shared the stage with a male YG dancer in her solo number ‘You and Me.’ Rosé demonstrated her vocal abilities in Born Pink’s ‘Hard To Love’ and her solo single ‘On the Ground,’ while Lisa performed ‘Money’ and her first solo single ‘LALISA.’
“One thing I’m really loving about Manila is that actually seeing people really jump and dance and singing along with us,” Jennie said.
“Exactly, guys, thank you so much,” Lisa affirmed.
“We really appreciate it. It makes us very happy, so keep going with whatever you’re doing,” Jennie added.
As they exited the stage, the girls performed ‘Shut Down,’ ‘Typa Girl,’ ‘Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,’ and ‘Forever Young.’
Filo Blinks, meanwhile, requested more as they chanted BLACKPINKS’ name, requesting an encore.
The band returned to perform ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah,’ ‘Stay,’ and ‘As If It’s Your Last.’
Rosé told fans, “I’m sorry we haven’t come back for four years. I’m pretty sure that the Philippines did not forget about us.”
Jennie agreed and said, “It has proven that they have not.”
BLACKPINK Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa also went around the stage to tell every Blink in the arena, “Salamat po.”
The internationally famous K-pop group first visited the country in February 2019 for the ‘BLACKPINK In Your Area World Tour,’ and then returned several months later for a meet-and-greet event sponsored by an e-commerce brand.
