Bohemian Rhapsody wins big at the 2019 Golden Globes

The hit Queen film biopic Bohemian Rhapsody won Best Picture – drama at the 2019 Golden Globes last January 6th according to Billboard.
Rami Malek who starred as the group’s iconic frontman Freddie Mercury also won the award for the best performance in a motion picture – drama. The big night at the Golden Globes is just the latest achievement for Bohemian Rhapsody.
The Queen biopic still remains the highest grossing musical biopic film ever released grossed with over $200 million in the US alone. Its soundtrack also hit the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Meanwhile the other music-themed nominee in the category, A Star is Born, ended up getting shut out in all major categories, though it did win best original song for “Shallow” written by Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt.
The Golden Globes Awards ceremony is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Valence, the parent company of Billboard.
