Pop star Britney Spears is reported to personally address the Los Angeles court to deal with the long-running conservatorship, April 28, Wednesday.
“My client (Britney Spears) has requested a hearing at which she can address the court directly. My client has asked that it be done on an expedited basis,” Spear’s lawyer Samuel Ingham told the court in a letter. As a response, the judge set June 23 as Spears’ appearance to the court. The nature of the matters to address are not yet known.
Spears, 39, has been under a conservatorship since 2008 where her father, Jamie Spears, was appointed conservator. This was after the pop star was hospitalized for psychiatric treatment following a breakdown. In August 2020, Spears failed to remove her father to the agreement.
#FreeBritney has trended online today because of the issue. Supporters of the pop star believed she was kept in prison stature because of the conservatorship.
