Bruno Mars and Lea Salonga are not performing on the 65th Miss Universe pageant

  Filipino-American singer and songwriter Bruno Mars and broadway singer-actress Lea Salonga will not be performing at the 65th Miss Universe pageant which will be held later this month according to Yibada.

  During a radio interview last Jan. 15, Tourism Undersecretary Kat De Castro confirmed that Mars will not be performing at the said pageant because he has a world tour to focus on. “He really wanted to come. It’s just that his agent kept on reminding him that he has to have proper rehearsals for the world tour,” De Castro said.

  Last week, the Department of Tourism announced on Twitter that Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera and Jed Madela will be performing at the pageant.

  However, Lea Salonga took to Twitter that she has not been booked to perform at the pageant and she will not be in the country during the pageant.

  I have not been booked to perform at the Miss Universe pageant. Plus, I'll already be out of the country. Someone has made a mistake.

  Last November, Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo revealed that a well-known international artist with Filipino roots will be performing during the 65th Miss Universe pageant.

  The Miss Universe organization will reveal the performers and judges after the contestant’s courtesy call on President Rodrigo Duterte on January 23.
