The Korean super group BTS was able to raise $3.6 million on their ‘Love Myself’ campaign for the United Nations children’s agency, October 6, Wednesday.
The ‘Love Myself campaign is the campaign of the group with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) which aims to fight violence, abuse, and bullying in order to promote self-esteem to young people. It has generated millions of dollars for funding and millions of tweets for promotion during four years of collaboration.
The campaign has spread through social media hashtags, merchandise, a 2019 promotion video, the 2018-2019 ‘Love Yourself’ world tour and concerts where UNICEF had booths.
“We as a team and as individuals grew, as well. We hope that many people felt how the love received from others can become the power that allows them to love themselves,” the seven-member band said.
“The groundbreaking way in which BTS has helped spark a positive message with its ARMY is simply unmatched and incredibly invaluable,” UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore said in a statement.
