The members of the Korean supergroup BTS has presented themselves at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA, September 20, Monday.
Speaking before diplomats and world leaders, the Korean stars advocated for vaccination amid the COVID-19 Delta Variant surge across the globe. They have discussed their experiences and of their fans worldwide from the past two years during pandemic times.
“Of course we received vaccinations. The vaccination was sort of a ticket to meet fans waiting for us and to be able to stand here before you today. Just like we said in our message today, we are doing the things that we’re able to do right now,” RM said. “What is important is the choices we make when we’re faced with change,” J-Hope added.
Their speech were preceded by a canned performance of their latest hit ‘Permission to Dance’ with numerous fans dancing with them outside the headquarters.
It was BTS’ third time to address world leaders at United Nations General Assembly. The first was in 2018 and the next was in 2020. The seven-member group flew to the US to join South Korean President Moon Jae-in in the assembly.
