Coldplay postpones Music of the Spheres World Tour due to serious lung infection

  The UK-based pop band Coldplay postponed forthcoming schedules for their ongoing Music of the Spheres World Tour, as lead vocalist Chris Martin contracted a serious lung infection. Martin, with the instruction of his doctor, had to be on rest for the next three weeks. The break covers several tour dates which had to be moved to next year, for his recovery.

  The band issued a statement, expressing their deep regrets – alongside ticket conditions. They quoted, “We’re working as fast as possible to lock in the new dates and will follow up with more information in the next few days.” “To everyone in Brazil who was looking forward to these concerts, we’re extremely sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience, and we’re so grateful for your understanding at this challenging time where we need to prioritize Chris’ health,” they also added.

  Coldplay was on their South American leg of the world tour, and the continuation of the show is set for early next year.

  Music of the Spheres World Tour is Coldplay’s eighth concert, in promotion of their ninth album “Music of the Spheres” (2021). The tour kicked off in March this year and is set to conclude in July 2023.

  Coldplay is a London-based band founded in 1996. They are composed of drummer Will Champion, bassist Guy Berryman, guitarist Jonny Buckland, main vocalist & pianist Chris Martin, and creative director Phil Harvey. They are known for their hit singles “Yellow,” “The Scientist,” “A Sky Full of Stars,” and more.
