Ed Sheeran breaks 1 billion Youtube views

  Since the release of his third album ‘Divide’, singer Ed Sheeran has been breaking records everywhere.

  An addition to his list of held records, Sheeran has reached 1 billion Youtube views on just Divide songs alone according to Billboard.

  Before Sheeran released his ‘Divide’ album, he released the lyric videos for the two singles, ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Castle on the Hill’ which already garnered hundreds of millions of views before his album was released.

  Lyor Cohen of Youtube Global Head of Music said in a statement, “Ed Sheeran is one of the biggest stars in the world and his new album is his best yet,” Cohen said. “For years, he’s paired his songs with consistently creative music videos, so it’s great to see fans rushing to YouTube to watch them and show support for his new album.”

  The lyric and official videos for ‘Shape of You’ has the highest ‘Divide’ video views with its lyric video at 395.4 million views and the official video with 296.2 million respectively.
