English singer-songwriter Elton John has revealed the album of so many collaborations entitled ‘The Lockdown Sessions,’ September 2, Thursday.
The music legend has remotely collaborated with more than 20 artists in the past 18 months amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Collaboration album includes Brandi Carlile, Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa, Eddie Vedder, Glen Campbell, Gorillaz, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Rina Sawayana, Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder, Years & Years, Young Thug, among others.
“This album saw Elton coming full circle and returning to his roots as a session musician. While it was no easy feat recording during a pandemic, a completely new way of working for Elton, he leaned into the challenge with some magnificent results,” the announcement said.
“At the start of my career, in the late ’60s, I worked as a session musician. Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that. I’d come full circle: I was a session musician again. And it was still a blast.” John said in a statement.
