Fil-Am artist Olivia Rodrigo slates ‘GUTS’ comeback album release on September

    On Tuesday, June 27 – Grammy-winning Filipino American artist Olivia Rodrigo is set to release her highly anticipated second album in September. Alongside Geffen Records, close collaborator Dan Nigro announced that “GUTS” will be out on September 8 this year.

    Olivia Rodrigo recently shared additional details about her upcoming sophomore album through a tweet. She disclosed that the album, titled “GUTS,” will be available on September 8, expressing immense pride and excitement in sharing the record with her audience.

    Rodrigo expressed that this new album is centered around the concept of growing pains and the journey of self-discovery during this phase of her life. More so, she described the period between the ages of 18 and 20 as intense, filled with awkwardness and change – resulting in personal growth. Rodrigo hopes that the album will authentically reflect this transformative experience.

    Speculation regarding Rodrigo’s return began when she updated the expiry date on the card image of her “drivers license” covers to June 30, 2023. Additionally, during her birthday, she teased her fans with a new beat in a video posted online, hinting at the abundance of new music she has been working on.

    The album’s first track and the “good 4 u” singer’s comeback song, “vampire,” is scheduled to be released on June 30 (Friday), building anticipation among her fans.

    Olivia Rodrigo is best known for her chart-topping hit “drivers license” in 2021 which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 and maintained its position for eight weeks. It even garnered 80 million streams within seven days on Spotify. Consequently, her debut album, “SOUR” achieved multiplatinum status and earned the artist three Grammy Awards. Her extraordinary talent and musical prowess earned her three Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, for which fellow Filipino American rapper Saweetie was also nominated.
