Green Day fires at Trump during ‘American Idiot’ performance at the 2016 MTV EMAs

  American rock band Green Day fires at Donald Trump while performing their decade-old hit ‘American Idiot’ at the 2016 MTV EMAs according to Billboard.

  After accepting their Global Icon Award, Armstrong took the moment to address the situation of the 2016 American Presidential Elections. “Most of all, it’s nice to be out of America just for a second, because of this horrendous election that’s going on right now,” he said. “Our entire country is about to have one big, collective heart attack.”

  Front man Billy Joe Armstrong tweaked the lyrics of the song intro firing at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, “Can you hear the sound of hysteria? The subliminal mind Trump-America,”.

  ‘American Idiot’, released in 2004, was originally written as a protest to the wars and lies of then president George W. Bush.
