Shocked by what he has discovered, Parokya ni edgar frontman, Chito Miranda, has extended his apologies to the composer of ‘Harana’ over the ‘mistakes’ done with their 1997 release, May 24, Monday.
“Sorry, ‘yung version namin, napasa na namin kung ano ‘yung mistake na nagawa namin. ‘Yung mistake — iba na ‘yung chords namin, slightly different ‘yung melody from the original, and kulang kami ng isang stanza,” Miranda told composer Eric Yaptangco during the latest episode of ‘Pamilya Talk’ hosted by journalist, Jing Castañeda.
Yaptangco’s version of ‘Harana’ was played on the 53rd minute of the episode. He wrote the song in 1989. During that time as well, Cholo Mallilin, a musician and close friend of Yaptangco in Ateneo, had recorded another version but never released it.
Pamilya Talk’s episode divulged the origin of ‘Harana,’ featured Chito Miranda, Eric Yaptangco, Cholo Mallilin, and Tony Lambino.
