  Jessie J has announced on Thursday, January 3, that she will be having a “social media break” after citing “some unexpected heavy personal stuff” as reason.

  Rumors spread that the reason was the death of her longtime bodyguard Dave who passed away at the end of 2018. The singer posted a tribute on her Instagram account with a caption “You weren’t just my security, we ARE family.”

  “When sadness hits it’s important we embrace it, so it doesn’t define us,… “I have to practice on myself what I talk about in stage and in my music too. In a good way.”

  The 30-year-old singer-songwriter assures fans that her social media hiatus will not be permanent.
