The APO Hiking Society expressed that he can’t help but become emotional, as he remembers how young he was at the time of the EDSA Revolution. He quoted, “May the Filipino people cherish the glorious moment in our history, may the spirit of EDSA live on,” he wrote.

Other OPM artists featured in the 2023 remake were Noel Cabangon, Pinky Marquez, Bituin Escalante, Celeste Legaspi, Boboy Garovillo, Leah Navarro, Bayang Barrios, Mitch Valdez, and The CompanY. Meanwhile, the rapping for the 2023 remake was done by brothers Elmo and Arkin Magalona, children of the late rapper Francis Magalona.

More so, actual footage from the historic event was used in the five-and-a-half-minute music video, including projections of the singers’ black-clad images during the sessions. The video also included drag queens Precious Paula Nicole, Brigiding, and Tita Baby alongside theater performers Bodji Pascua, Audie Gemora Raul Montesa, and Gab Pangilinan.

The song’s message, “Mabuhay ang kalayaan, isabuhay ang kalayaan,” flashed at the end of a film depicting tens of thousands of Filipinos marching while holding a banner that read, “Free Again.”
