Filipino band Johnny Cross has offered a song for the Filipino athletes gearing up for the Tokyo Olympics next month, July 13, Tuesday.
Johnny Cross members composed the song ‘Pilipinas’ back in 2019. But because of a one-year pandemic-forced delay of the Olympics, they just released it this year. The video was premiered in YouTube on July 5.
“Tuwing may competition, ang pine-play na song is ‘Noypi’ ni Bamboo or ‘Pinoy Ako’ ng Orange and Lemons, but those are songs about Pinoys in general,” said frontman Riera Mallari.
According to reports, the Philippine Sports Commission will release an official music video using the anthem, but no release date has been announced.
