Ye, or as we all know, Kanye West, was getting sued for alleged assault, battery, and negligence. This was due to the heated encounter he had with a paparazzi photographer whose phone was thrown into the street, which was caught on camera.
Kanye West is now being sued by a paparazzi for assault, battery and negligence after he was caught on camera grabbing and throwing her phone for photographing him back in January.

West argued that he should neither be photographed nor recorded when he’s seeing his kids. In defense, the photographer Nichol Lechmanik said that she was getting her job done as a celebrity photojournalist when she was taking photos of Ye.
“He reached into my car as if he were going to hit me. He grabbed my phone out of my hand and then angrily threw it into the street,” Lechmanik said. “He caused so much fear that I have not been the same since.”
The incident happened outside a Newbury Park sports facility on January 27, 2023, when Ye was outside a sports academy in Ventura County, where he attended his daughter’s basketball game.
Following the incident, Lechmanik filed a police report with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. However, no criminal charges were filed against West.
A reporter asked Lechmanik about violating a celebrity’s privacy. She claims that she has been working as a photographer for ten years and has always been respectful of her famous subjects for ten years. Meanwhile, her attorney, Allred, insisted that Ye gets in the way of her client’s livelihood. She said Lechmanik hopes to set a model for other paparazzi photographers who also encounter bad behavior from celebrities.
