Katy Perry has intentionally ‘freezed’ using instagram and Facebook as part of the advocacy of the Stop Hate for Profit group, September 15, Tuesday.
On her Instagram account, Perry has posted a creative saying ‘stop hate.’ He quoted George Orwell saying, “In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
This action is a call of the coalition and its supporters for Facebook to address racism, hate, violence and disinformation on all it platforms. The coalition is led by civil rights and advocacy organizations such as Anti-Defamation League, Color of Change, Common Sense, Free Press, Mozilla, National Hispanic Media Coalition, Sleeping Giants and many more.
“I love sharing my music and my life with you on Instagram and Facebook, but TBH I can’t sit idly by while these platforms turn a blind eye to groups and posts spreading hateful disinformation and intentional confusion,” Perry added.
