The Canadian singer-songwriter died in his sleep at the age of 82 according to The Guardian as confirmed by Robert B. Kory, Cohen’s manager.
His manager said that Cohen died in his sleep after falling down in the middle of the night at his home in Los Angeles.
“The death was sudden, unexpected and peaceful,” Kory said in a statement.
Leonard Cohen died in his sleep after a fall at his home in Los Angeles on the 7th of November, his manager has said.
Cohen’s death was only confirmed a few days later in an announcement on his official Facebook page, which no cause was given.
The ‘Hallelujah’ had released his 14th album, ‘You Want It Darker’, last month, which was graded five star by critics.
In an interview last October, Cohen said he was “ready to die”. He told the New Yorker: “I am ready to die. I hope it’s not too uncomfortable. That’s about it for me.”
Cohen is survived by his children, Adam and Lorca, and his three grandchildren, Cassius, Viva and Lyon.
