Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has died of an apparent suicide by hanging according to the Rolling Stone.
The 41-year-old singer was found dead at his private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County at around 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
“Shortly after 9 a.m. this morning, we were notified by law enforcement of a death in Palos Verdes Estates,” Brian Elias, chief of operations for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, tells Rolling Stone. “We responded to the scene and unfortunately confirmed that Mr. Chester Bennington was deceased at the scene.”
Mike Shinoda, Bennington’s fellow Linkin Park vocalist shared his reaction on the news on Twitter: “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”

Bennington is survived by his six children, Jaime, Isaiah, Draven, Tyler Lee and twins Lily and Lila, and his wife Talinda Ann Bentley.
