Madonna’s “self-tribute” to Aretha Franklin draws flak

Madonna is now on the limelight because of her tribute speech on MTV’s Video Music Awards for the late Aretha Franklin.
As stars pay respects to the Queen of Soul, Madonna was accused of making her entire speech about herself.
In her speech, Madonna recalled her early days as singer and dancer and an audition where shere performed the iconic “You Make Me Feel Like” of Franklin.
Angry viewers of the tribute felt that they spent more time consuming Madonna’s life while Twitter flooded with fan messages disappointments regarding the content of the tribute.
Lastly, Madonna said, “I want to thank you, Aretha, for empowering all of us. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Long live the queen.”
