Morissette Amon releases 25th anniversary version of ‘Shine’

• Singer Morissette Amon has released her cover of ‘Shine,’ May 25, Tuesday.

  The song was dropped in celebration of its 25th anniversary since its first release. It is now running under Star Records.

  ‘Shine’ was originally written by Trina Belamide and sung by Ima Castro. It was a MetroPop entry of Castro and was performed by Sweet Plantado during the 1996 MetroPop Song Festival.

  In 2004, it was covered by Regine Velasquez giving the song a vibe of gospel waltz. This was done by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo who teamed up with Filipino-American musical director Troy Laureta.

  The official music video of Morissette’s cover will be dropped on May 30, Sunday.
