  The streaming service, Netflix, has announced the upcoming premiere of a documentary about the K-pop group, BLΛƆKPIИK, September 9, Wednesday.

  The documentary entitled “BLΛƆKPIИK: Light Up the Sky,” will premiere on October 14. This will be the first film by Netflix about a South Korean music band.

  “Director Caroline Suh’s trusted relationship with Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa offers organic and honest moments that give viewers an authentic inside look into the lives of Blackpink, as well as the dedication and grueling preparation each member puts into every hit song, history-making performance and sold-out arena tour,” said Adam del Deo, vice president for documentary features in Netflix.

  This will be the fourth original documentary made by Netflix featuring female artists, namely Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Taylor Swift and BLΛƆKPIИK.
