Owl City announces new album ‘Coco Moon’

  “I started by imagining an album I wanted to listen to. The result is ‘Coco Moon.’”

  “Fireflies” artist Owl City announced on Friday, February 10, 2023, about returning with a new album.

  Hi, it’s Adam. I’m thrilled to announce a new Owl City album is coming.

  March 24th is the day.

  “Coco Moon” is an 11-song album; vocalist Adam Young mentioned that putting out a said number of songs was because it was his favorite number.

  More so, he teases the album as a creative, metaphorical, and autobiographical piece; Young mentioned turning his journal entries into songs. He also shared his love for literature as books take him to his imaginary world. The design is very, “Fireflies,” right?

  “The point is that “Coco Moon” is a very Owl City album. It is quirky. It is odd. It is unapologetically myself. I made an album that is exactly the way it was supposed to be, not an album that popular culture, algorithms, analytics, or anyone else on planet Earth told me to make. I wrote me. Average, ordinary, weird me,” Young said in a social media post.

  Owl City has been always associated with eccentricity and creativity; in this album, Adam is more likely to become unapologetically himself. A fan said, “I love how connected to his fan base he’s been with this album release and how open and detailed he’s been about his inspirations!”

  “Coco Moon” is scheduled for release on March 24.

  Founded in Owatonna, Minnesota, in 2007, Owl City is an American electronic music project. Adam Young, a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, composed it while playing with music in the basement of his parent’s house. Owl City is best known for the 2009 hit “Fireflies,” “Good Time” in collaboration with Carly Rae Jepsen, and “Vanilla Twilight” – to name a few. More so, he recently released two new songs “Adam, Check Please” and “Kelly Time.”
