After 36 years, Sir Paul McCartney is back on No. 1 spot on United States charts with his first solo number one album.
Finally, the “Egypt Station” album, which consists of 16 tracks marked the first time that Sir Paul debuted as a solo artist on top in the US Billboard chart. This album is an experiment of “younger rock feel” to add on his classic Beatles sound.

McCartney last topped the charts as a solo artist was in 1982 with his album “Tug of War.” This made him achieved the second largest gap on reaching top on chart for an album of any artist.
According to Nielsen Music, “Egypt Station” sold 153,000 copies in the US just week after its release on September 7.
