The lead singer of the 80’s goth new wave band Dead or Alive, Pete Burns, 57, died yesterday (PST) after going into massive cardiac arrest, his management confirmed his death on his Twitter account according to Spin.

Burns’ career started as the lead singer of Dead or Alive. They are best known for their ’84 hit, ‘You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)’.
Boy George, who has the same musical style with Burns, tweeted of the Dead or Alive singer, “Tearful about the passing of @PeteBurnsICON he was one of our great true eccentrics and such a big part of my life! Wow. Hard to believe!”

As Dead or Alive’s only member left, he continued to do music. The last single Burns’ released was ‘Never Marry an Icon’ in 2010. Burns also continued to tour under the band’s name.
In 2009, Flo Rida and Kesha take on the song, titling it ‘Right Round’ which topped the Billboard 200 charts and broken then-digital sales records.
