Singer and producer Pharrell Williams has launched a design project where old CDs are recycled into reusable cutlery, September 9, Wednesday.
The project is called “The Pebble by Otherware” which aims that dining should be made more sustainable. It was launched with the German studio Pentatonic and designed non-conventional foldable forks, knives, chopsticks and straws.
Williams wants to promote reusable cutlery to reduce plastic waste. CDs as prime materials, the handles are made of polypropylene, derived from food packaging. Recycled food packaging was also used in the creation of the innovative set designed for those who want to eat on the go, but avoid single-use items.
Pharrell Williams has been in the food and restaurant business venture for years and known for being a design aficionado.
