  • The Head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, has been a popular topic online after his random visit to a record store outside Vatican, January 11, Tuesday.

In a series of photos published by Javier Martínez-Brocal, director of international news agency Rome Reports, the masked pontiff was seen leaving a store in Rome with a sign ‘Stereosound’ on its entrance. It was captioned, “The Pope, in a record store in Rome.” Netizens asked the question: “What did the pope purchase?”

According to the Vatican’s Press Office, Francis visited and blessed the newly-renovated record store near the Pantheon which is owned by a woman named Letizia. “He already came when he was a cardinal. It was very emotional. We gave him a classical music record as a gift,” the owner said.

It was told that the pope was a customer of the record store long before, when he was still Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina. Francis promised the owner to visit there as pope.

In 2016, a news portal Aleteia reported that Pope Francis enjoys classical music including from Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart.
