After six years since the American rock band disbanded, guitarist Peter Buck finally revealed the reason behind it.
During in an interview with Rolling Stones, Buck said he had compiled all the things he could no longer take about being in the band.
“[The list is composed of] everything except writing songs, playing songs and recording them. It was the money, the politics, having to meet new people 24 hours a day, not being in charge of my own decisions.” Buck said.
R.E.M. decided to call it quits in 2011 during the making of their album ‘Collapse Into Now’.
Buck is now pursuing his solo career and currently signed to Mississippi Records.
Buck has already released two studio albums in 2012 and 2014 respectively, since R.E.M. disbanded in 2011.
