Robert Sylvester Kelly, most known as ’90s R&B singer R. Kelly was convicted in prison for federal racketeering and sex trafficking.

Kelly, 55, who is best known for his song ‘I Believe I Can Fly,’ will be serving 30 years in prison for sex crimes after exploiting his fame to lure women and young girls to perform sexual acts in exchange of future projects.

“This case is not about sex. It’s about violence and cruelty and control,” US District Judge Ann Donnelly told Kelly. “You left in your wake a trail of broken lives.”

He will be facing his second trial this coming August on charges for producing child pornography and sexual abuse to minors.
