Rico Blanco performs ‘lockdown version’ of “Liwanag sa Dilim”

• Singer-songwriter Rico Blanco has released what he called “quarantine version” of a Rivermaya hit titled “Liwanag Sa Dilim” on Wednesday, June 3.

  Blanco uploaded the music video on his YouTube channel. He decided to give new rendition of the song as he got touched by Safeguard’s campaign video.

  Because of that, he willingly supported the company’s “Bayanihands” campaign to gather funds for frontliners through the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

  The original version of “Liwanag sa Dilim” was released in 2004 through Rivermaya’s “Between the Stars & Waves” album.

  Early May 2020, Blanco released a song entitled “This Too Shall Pass,” and later participated in UNICEF’s benefit concert for COVID-19 response.
