ROUGE celebrates 7th anniversary, releases new track

• All-girl pop-rock band ROUGE is celebrating their seventh anniversary this year, March 24, Wednesday.

  “Super proud lang talaga ako sa seventh-year namin. I’ve seen many bands who have given up already. And I’ve also seen successful bands but were in-fighting and eventually disbanded,” said bassist Kara Mendez.

  “It was a necessary evolution for us that made us stronger. We were all the better for it.” Mendez added.

  The group released in February a track entitled ‘Kalimutan Ka,’ to celebrate their anniversary. In a statement, the track was described as about completely letting go a person who’s hurt them before, begins as a mellow soft acoustic track which then builds up to a full-on rock banger.

  ROUGE was formed in May 2013 by Paulo Zarate and JP Montilla. Mendez and guitarist-vocalist Jeri Oro were the founding members of the group.
