Ryan Cayabyab is the country’s newest National Artist for Music

  Internationally-acclaimed Filipino singer-actress and “Pinoy Pride” Lea Salonga announced on her Twitter account that musician, composer, and conductor Ryan Cayabyab is the country’s newest National Artist for Music last Tuesday according to Inquirer.net.

  “Kay ganda ng ating musika… dahil nariyan ka! Congratulations to our dearest Ryan Cayabyab, our country’s newest National Artist for Music!!! Maraming salamat sa mga awiting iyong nilikha upang mapaawit ang ating bansa!!!” Salonga said.
  Other Filipinos who received the award are: Francisco Mañosa (Architecture), Ramon Muzones (Literature), Larry Alcala (Visual Arts), Amelia Lapeña Bonifacio (Theater), and Kidlat Tahimik (Film).
