Ryan Cayabyab to receive Ramon Magsaysay award

  National Artist Ryan Cayabyab is one of the five recipients of the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award this year.

  The award to be given to the renowned musician was announced on Friday, August 2, by Ramon Magsaysay Foundation chairman, Ambassador Jose Cuisia Jr.

  “His indomitable, undeterred confidence to selflessly seek, mentor and promote young Filipino musical genius for the global stage, and in showing us all that music can indeed instill pride and joy and unify people across the many barriers that divide them,” said Cuisia.

  The Ramon Magsaysay Awards 2019 formal ceremony will be held on September 9 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City.
