“Every time we come to the Philippines, we’re just astonished by your energy. It is really crazy,” – Vernon of SEVENTEEN
SEVENTEEN returned to Bulacan, Philippines on Saturday, December 17 for another “Be The Sun” concert – shortly two months after their sold-out October 8 and 9 shows at the Mall of Asia Arena. Holding the show at the 55,000-capacity Philippine Arena – the collective is branded as the first solo K-pop act to headline in the said performance venue.

While the setlist for the Bulacan show was nearly the same as their Manila shows – the energy was never the same as the intensity of it was more the previous one. More so, Team AURA and Team SAME, the backup dancers who were not present at the prior shows, made the unit performances even more showstopping!

Seungkwan praised the Filipino CARATs for their tremendous efforts in the band’s growth. He recalled that their first Philippine show only had more or less a thousand attendees. He was referring to the “Shining Diamonds: 1st Asia Pacific Tour” at the Theatre of Solaire Resort & Casino last August 14 and 15, 2016. He estimated that their recent show garnered a 40,000 crowd and that they got a bigger venue.
Many Filipino CARATs were concerned that the large arena would not be filled, given the venue’s low accessibility and the fact that the additional event was only two months after their last visit to the country. Hence, several fan clubs organized activities in the weeks and days before the Bulacan stop, ranging from transportation help to food drives to ticket giveaways, to ensure that their fellow fans had the greatest experience possible.
Mingyu quoted, “Even though it’s coming to an end, we are still happy right now. I was really shocked with all your energy. We will be coming back soon.”
