Superstar Taylor Swift recognizes the efforts of a LGBT advocacy group in Tennessee, USA that’s why she donates a huge amount into it.
According to the Tennessee Equality Project, Taylor donated an amount of $113,000 or PhP 5.9 million. The main objective of her donation is to help the organization in fighting contentious bills moving inside the Republican-controlled assembly.
In a handwritten letter from Taylor, she cited the the recent petition of Tennessee faith leaders opposing bills targeting LGBT individuals. She appreciates the religious leaders for giving all kinds of people a place to worship.
From the Inquirer, known as the so-called “Slate of Hate,” the bills include allowing adoption agencies to discriminate against same-sex couples and preventing government agencies from considering a business’s nondiscrimination policies when selecting a contract.
