Taylor Swift impersonator ‘Taylor Sheesh’ brings ‘Eras Tour’ to Manila

  On May 21, 2023 – Filipino Taylor Swift fans, or Swifties, gathered for “Fan Nights: The Eras Festival in Manila – Encore,” to create their rendition of the sold-out “Eras Tour.” Organized by Swifties Philippines, end goal of the fan meet is to convince their favorite performer to include the Philippines in her ongoing world tour.

  The event successfully amassed a large crowd:

  Numerous videos captured at the event quickly spread across TikTok over the weekend, showcasing attendees singing along and dancing to the lyrics. The intention behind these videos was to persuade Taylor Swift to grace their country with a performance, as evident from the videos tagged with #WeWantErasTourPhilippines, which have garnered over 17 million views.

  Amidst the uncertainty surrounding Taylor’s potential concert in the Philippines, devoted Filipino fans celebrated their inner Swiftie at Trinoma Mall’s Activity Center. The occasion showcased the talents of Pinoy drag queen Taylor Sheesh, who flawlessly transformed into Taylor Swift herself. Emulating the concert experience of the American singer, Taylor Sheesh adorned replicas of the iconic “Eras Tour” outfits, lip-synced and danced to the entire setlist, and even had backup dancers and props on stage.

  Consequently, the drag queen gained global recognition after her mall performance was featured on the esteemed media platform, Rolling Stone.  (We say, DASURV! 💗)

  The attending fans fervently sang along to Taylor’s chart-topping hits from her entire career, such as “You Belong With Me,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Lover,” “Willow,” and “Anti-Hero,” to name a few.
