The Entertainment Retailers Association in UK has revealed that the streaming sales for the year 2019 is on its highest peak in history.
The ERA numbers have seen the streaming sales crossed £1 billion ($1.3 billion), an equivalent of 7.1% rise in overall music spending compared in 2018.
The sales was merely because of the consumed streaming and digital services. The Divinely Inspired to a Hellish Extent by Lewis Capaldi had sales of 641,000, 60% of which came from streaming. Same thing goes with Ed Sheeran with his No. 6 Collaborations Project, 568,000 units sold where 63% are digital.
Back in history when the bulk of music sales were focused on physical copies of CD and vinyl, having £872 million ($1.1 billion) in sales. Another significant is the 68% drop on download sales over the decade.
