    “Kelan ka ba mag-aasawa?”

    “May boyfriend ka na ba?”

    “Kelan mo balak magpakasal?”

    “Hindi ka na bumabata.”

You have that good career, pretty fat savings account, life that’s doing well, and these questions that you can’t get away from. Yep, every career-oriented single person faces these questions. And though you want to answer back, sometimes it’s just so tiring to explain yourself and pointing out things to people who won’t understand because they’re not wearing your shoes.

However, sometimes you just want it all out. So here are few things you’ve been itching to tell them why you’re still single… btw, you can insert additional reasons by commenting them below!

    1. “I’M SO IN LOVE WITH MY WORK”

Yep, it might be tiring and draining the hell out of you but you’re so head-over-heels in love it. Even if you want to let go of it and try a new path, you’re still going home to it. You still want to give you’re all in all to it. And a lot of people do not understand that. You’re so in love at excelling on it as if it’s the person you’re making-love with every night. It’s like the air you breathe. And there would be people who won’t get it and will tell you to keep things balanced. It’s like you keep loving the person who loves and hurts you at the same time. But at the end of the day, they make you the happiest.

There’s nothing wrong with it but don’t forget that your job won’t grow old with you. Don’t forget to love yourself.

    2. “HINDI PA ‘KO READY.”

You’re not yet in a relationship at the prime of your life. You’re not settling down. You’re still enjoying the singlehood–partying , travelling, buying everything that you want, and all. It’s not that you’re not yet ready financially or physically. You’re not just ready to step in a new chapter and not take it back once you get tired or get fucked up. You just don’t want to regret and have those “what ifs”. Not everyone gets the point that you want to maximize the time that you’re single until you wake up one day and say, “I’m ready to commit.”

Again, it’s not that you’re afraid of relationships or commitments. People just don’t get that you don’t want to fail your partner. You don’t want a failed marriage just because you didn’t enjoy your youth. You don’t want to be lost while you’re already with someone. Because in real life, it’s only you who will know if you’re ready or not.

    3. “WALANG NANLILIGAW SA’KIN.”

Can you imagine how hard it is to admit that no one’s courting you or likes you?

Some girls can’t just really say it or it’s something they’re so ashamed of bragging. But what if it’s true? No one’s courting you or making porma to you? Not because you’re ugly (because no woman is), or you’re too strong, or you’re too much. Nope, for some reasons you do not know–no one’s taking you on a date. No one is messaging you or asking you for coffee. No one leaves food on your table with notes. No one. Sometimes you don’t know if you’re dense or you’re just not the girlfriend type. And truth be told, it scares you. It makes you sad too. But you don’t have to show it and you can’t be fragile all the time.

When your tita said that getting a boyfriend is easy when you have graduated and get a job, sometimes you want to get back to your tita and ask her where is easy in all these.

    4. “LAGING AKONG NARE-REJECT”

Man, sometimes it’s just so hard to say that you’re getting rejected. Being a man of good job and character never gets old. But sometimes you don’t know if you’re picking the wrong woman for you or you’re the wrong person. But truth be told, it’s just a wrong timing. And even if you want to believe it a million times, your ego gets hurt whenever people measures you just because you can’t settle down yet with your age. But what if it’s just really not the season for you to be with someone? Just like your friends getting tired of pulling off a date for you, you’re also tired doing the trial and error with other girls. You’re also tired of the questions about your sexuality just because you don’t have a partner. And you can’t be weak on this because as what we all know, men should be strong.

    5. “WALA PA ‘KONG IPON”

As much as you want to settle down and be in a relationship, you just don’t find it practical that your savings are not enough. Whether you’re the man or the woman, you don’t find it wise to be in a relationship without enough money in your bank account. You don’t want to step on a new chapter if you can’t pay a lifestyle higher than yours. You don’t want to pay debts and credit cards. Because it’s really true that it’s easy to build a family but it’s hard to sustain one. You gotta be wise.
