  High school is one of the most memorable phases in a person’s life. This phase is when you are too old to be considered a kid, but you are too young to be called an adult. You have lots of unforgettable experiences, and you might even have experienced lots of firsts during this time. High school has left you a lot to remember and a lot to bring as you move forward to the next stage of your life. This certainly includes the ones who made it a very memorable one: your high school friends. There is an undeniable truth as to why your life is never the same without them. Here are some of the reasons why your high school BFFs are forever!

  They didn’t judge your high school e-mail address, because they had the same weird email addresses, too.

  You wouldn’t want your college friends or even your boss to know that you used to log in to your Friendster account using the email address sw33t4nq3l_blue02, right? Well, your high school friends were the first and only people to know that you were once living by the name of sw33t4anq3l. Not only did they know, but they accepted you and your jeje days, because hey, your BFF also went by the name of lhady_cut3!

   

  You know their family and they know you, too.

  You guys used to hang out at your friend’s house, and the whole family knows you already. They expect you to be there during a family member’s birthday party or even on fiestas. You are not just a friend, because you are already a family.

   

  They were there when you were finding yourself.

  Their influences mattered the most when you were deciding on where to go to college. They were there when you were trying to figure out the paths that you are going to take. Even when you had an identity crisis, they were the first people to tell you that your happiness should come first. They were the first people to accept you, including your immature and confused self.

   

  They were there during your first heartbreak.

  You cried when you found out that your crush already had a girlfriend. And your high school friends were there to make everything easier for you. They saw how you cried when you broke up with your first boyfriend and how you redeemed yourself from that puppy love heartbreak.

   

  You aged together.

  You went through puberty together. Your high school friends witnessed your glow up, and you saw theirs, too. Apart from that, you have witnessed how their perspective changed, and they saw yours, too. Not only you grew old with each other, but you also grew up together.

   

  It’s always fun to celebrate reunions with them.

  Reunions always give you excitement because being with them always reminds you of how it’s like to be young, reckless, and free. Being with them always has a nostalgic feeling of one of the best moments of your life.

   

  You share a lot of funny and weird stories.

  Whether it is about your cute Math teacher or your graduation practices moments, reminiscing about everything in high school is always a fun thing to do. Inside jokes from high school were never forgotten even up to this very moment!

   

  You’ve survived being apart for a long period of time.

  They say that some friends are just your friends because you get to be with them every day. Well, your high school friends proved that they are your friends because you have survived college and still make sure to catch up occasionally even when you are all already a professional. They don’t hold grudges with your busy schedule and just pick up where you left off.

   

  They know your roots.

  Your high friends know where you came from. They witnessed how you were embarrassed when you were singing in a school program. That’s why they understand why singing in front of the public is quite a hard thing for you to do now. They hold a big part of what you’ve become and where you are right now.

   

  They will always feel like home.

  Being with them always gives you 100% comfortability. You can go back to being sw33t4nq3l without the fear of being judged. You can talk about how bad it hurt when you had your first heartbreak and just laugh about it. Just like before, you can talk about anything under the sun and sometimes, one whole day isn’t enough for you to catch up!
